Nations Afire - "I Am An Army"

Nations Afire are a four piece band that features current and former members of some of the most influential punk and hardcore bands from the past decade. Guitarist Chris Chasse has an impressive resume that includes a tenure with Rise Against (Siren Song of the Counter Culture '04 and The Sufferer & the Witness '06). Vocalist/guitarist Nik Hill and bassist Brett Rasmussen are both long standing members of the Orange County hardcore outfit Ignite and drummer Todd Hennig was the percussive force behind Death By Stereo for three albums.

Bassist Brett Rasmussen explains the bands excitement in making their own video. "I think we have all done just about everything there is to do in regards to being in a band like; writing, recording, producing, playing live, touring and so forth, but none of us had ever made a full production video ourselves. It was a welcomed challenge and to be honest, ended up being a lot of fun!" The band called on another friend, editor Tim Lunsford, to handle the cutting of the video. We were sitting there with Tim for about an hour and he finally said "Are you guys gonna really sit here for the next 8 hours and watch me do this…get outta here, I will send you the first cut tonight" We all laughed, then left. "I really think every band should direct their own video at least once, it creates a sense of pride for the product and puts even a bigger fingerprint on your work" Rasmussen said after the completion of the video.

Nations Afire have some local shows booked in Southern California in May/June and are in the process of booking a European tour for August.

"Life's a Bitch" is the third single from the highly publicized album 'Under the Gun', from Modern Day Escape on StandBy Records. The song deals with the inner struggles so many face with getting through day-to-day life; with much of the imagery being a self-portrait of life's struggles as told by the band.

Villa Rise - "Keeper"

The video is for the first single "Keeper" from Villa Rise EP 'Wastelands'.

Released on April 30th for FREE via Monarch Records, "Wastelands" features six tracks of honest, emotional hardcore songs, as rich in melody as they are in aggression, with an overall sound of passion and honesty. The raw driving rhythm section, fuelled by discordant, metallic riffing, atmospheric arpeggio work provides a powerful vehicle for the spine-tingling heartfelt vocals. With the overall message that happiness is a state of mind, the EP tells a story of a young man who descends into madness, because of his inability to accept the positives and in his life.

Villa Rise is a band in a state of constant and cohesive turmoil. They are as honest a reflection of an inexplicable unrest that could possibly be constructed by the five flawed individuals who form its ranks.

It is not a matter of wanting to show you all anymore; It is an inability to sit still and to stay quiet. Amid a haze of darkness and anxiety Villa Rise cling only to the message that happiness is a state of mind, and if you can accept that, it is within your control.

2012 hails an exciting new chapter in the lives of these five former Sydney-siders, who have embarked on a journey to the United Kingdom to hone their skills and apply their brand of honest and energetic hardcore punk.

Day 1: He braved the apple orchards and mean steets of South Central Washington State to submit his entry, let's all grumble congrats in his general direction, Mr. Kevin Porter of Yakima, WA! Congrats, sir!

Day 2: Hailing from St. Louis, in the "Show Me" state of Missouri, Mr. Carl Contevita triumphed over staggering odds and "showed us" that he has what it takes to be randomly selected to win awesome free stuff! That is a great skill to have, Carl! Congrats!!!

Day 3: Today's lucky entry comes from a state rich in music and grilled meat, two things near and dear to BlankTV. Day 7: Lucky number seven goes out to the great state of Arizona. Nestled in the political weirdness of Maricopa county lies the sleepy hamlet of Litchfield Park. Founded as an agricultural center for the rubber trade by Goodyear executive... You know what, this town's history is kinda boring. And I think resident, Scott Ruud, would agree. Fortunately Scott can liven things up a bit in Litchfield Park with his shiny new No Room for Rockstars" DVD! Congrats, Scott!
